PRIVACY POLICY

MST Financial Services Pty Limited and other members of the MST group (together "we" or "MST") are committed to safeguarding the personal information that we receive. MST will hold personal information in confidence in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles ("APPs") and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) as amended ("Privacy Act").



1. WHAT IS PERSONAL INFORMATION?

Under the Privacy Act, personal information is information or an opinion, whether true or not, and whether recorded in a material form or not, about an individual whose identity is apparent, or can reasonably be ascertained, from the information or opinion.



2. WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT AND WHY DO WE COLLECT IT?

Sandstone Insights may collect personal for the purpose of providing financial products or services to the client (including their staff and representatives). This information includes, but is not limited to:

  • Full Name
  • Contact Details
  • Country of Residence

This information is collected to facilitate the provision of a service or product by Sandstone Insights and to comply with relevant laws, for example anti-money laundering and counter terrorism financing laws. We collect this information directly from the client (or their staff and representatives) and not from third parties.

Sandstone Insights may also collect personal information from people we do business with to fulfil the relevant business purpose. This will usually happen when we collect the name and business contact details of a person who is an adviser, supplier or other business contact. We collect this information to facilitate the relevant business purpose.

Sandstone Insights may also collect personal information from people who send us correspondence. Information collected includes name and contact details. We collect this information directly from the relevant individuals and not from third parties. We collect this information to deal with correspondence. We will not generally collect information of a sensitive or personal nature that is not required to provide a financial service or product (for example information on race, religion or health information).

Sandstone Insights may also collect personal information from persons applying for employment. Information collected includes name and contact details, work history, professional associations, academic and professional credentials, tax file number, emergence contact details. This information is collected for the purposes of fulfilling Sandstone Insights’ role as an employer and for recruiting purposes.

Payment related information, including credit and debit card details, relating to individuals who have purchased products, services, or subscriptions from us, is collected, processed, and stored on our behalf by our third-party processing partners. These third parties include: Chargebee, Stripe, and SendGrid. We do not know, or have access to, any purchaser’s debit card, credit card, or bank information.



3. WHAT IF THE INFORMATION IS INCOMPLETE OR INACCURATE?

If incomplete or inaccurate information is provided, or an individual chooses to remain anonymous, then Sandstone Insights may not be able to provide you with the products or services you are seeking.

Sandstone Insights use client’s personal information to facilitate the provision of financial services or products by Sandstone Insights in accordance with our published Terms of Use. Other personal information will be used to facilitate the business purpose only for which it is provided.



4. HOW DO WE USE AND DISCLOSE PERSONAL INFORMATION?

We may use your personal information, including your contact details, to provide you with information about products and services (including those of our affiliates) which we consider may be of interest to you.

We may also provide your details to our affiliates for specific marketing purposes.

At any time, you may advise us that you do not wish to receive marketing communications. You may opt out at any time if you no longer wish to receive marketing information or do not wish to receive marketing information through a particular channel (such as email, telephone, SMS, or mail).

If you do not want us to send you marketing communications via email you can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe option available in the email. To opt out of other forms of communication, please contact our Privacy Officer using the contact details provided below.

Your personal information may be shared with third-party companies for the purposes of delivering a service or product to you, including but not limited to payment processing services.

When you buy from us or sign up to a paid subscription service you will need to provide personal information, such as your name, email address, shipping and billing address and payment details to the third-party in one of the following forms:

  • Card payment, processed by Stripe
  • Management of marketing emails processed by SendGrid
  • Subscriptions, processed by Chargebee

Your payment details are securely processed and stored by the applicable third-party provider named above. We do not process or store your card or bank details. Please refer to the applicable third-party’s privacy policy for more information:

5. DIRECT MARKETING

We may use your personal information, including your contact details, to provide you with information about products and services (including those of our affiliates) which we consider may be of interest to you.

We may also provide your details to our affiliates for specific marketing purposes. At any time, you may advise us that you do not wish to receive marketing communications. You may opt out at any time if you no longer with to receive marketing information or do not wish to receive marketing information through a particular channel (such as email, telephone, sms, mail, or LinkedIn).

If you do not want us to send you your marketing communications via email you can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe option available in the email. To opt out of other forms of communication, please contact our Privacy Officer via contact details given below.

6. OVERSEAS DISCLOSURE

We may disclose your personal information to our affiliates and service providers, who may be located in Australia or overseas. Where information is disclosed to a third-party, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that confidentiality arrangements are in place prior to the information being disclosed, and only the information necessary for the third party to perform their service is disclosed. We may be required by local or international laws to disclose personal information to a government body, regulator, enforcement agency, court or tribunal.

We may disclose personal information to third-party service providers located in the United States of America.

7. HOW DO WE PROTECT THE CONFIDENTIALITY OF PERSONAL INFORMATION?

Sandstone Insights will take reasonable steps to ensure that any identifiable personal information that we have collected is stored securely. The measures utilised include password protection to our systems, multi-factor authentication and restricting access to our systems and education of staff.

8. OUR WEBSITE

Our website may collect non-personal information when you visit our website. Our website also uses cookies. A ‘cookie’ is a packet of information that allows the server (the computer that houses the web site) to identify and interact more effectively with your computer. This information does not typically identify individual users and it is unlikely to be personal information.

We use Google API and Google Analytics to monitor user engagement and better understand activity and popularity of different elements of content on our website. This data is not shared with any third-party besides Google for technical support purposes. Google Analytics uses pseudo-anonymous data such as what city and country a user is located in and what type of browser they are using. Google does not provide access to Internet identifiers such as IP addresses or precise geolocation data. Please refer to Google’s Privacy Policy for more information (link).

9. LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES

Our website may have links to external third-party websites that may benefit the user. External websites should contain their own privacy statements and we recommend you review them when using their websites. Please note, however, that third party websites are not covered by our Privacy Policy and these websites are not subject to our privacy standards and procedures.

You have a right to access any personal information we hold about you (although there are some exceptions to this) and to request correction of any personal information that we hold about you. You can request access or correction by contacting Sandstone Insights at the address below. We may deny such a request in some circumstances, if we do this we will explain why. Please note that the personal information we hold about you will be information that you (or your representative) have provided. Sandstone Insights will respond to requests for access or correction within reasonable time. Sandstone Insights may ask you to pay its reasonable costs of responding to your request.

You may also make a complaint to Sandstone Insights concerning a breach of the Privacy Act by writing to the address below. Sandstone Insights will acknowledge complaints and provide a final response within 30 days of receipt of the complaint. If you are not satisfied with the outcome of our complaints process, you have the right to make a complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at the details provided below:
